How A Passing Star Lit Up The Ancient Sky

For millions of years all human beings, both early and modern, had to find their own food, and were forced to spend most of each day gathering plants and hunting animals in order to survive. Then, within only the past 12,000 years, our species made the revolutionary transition from being hunters and gatherers, to being able to produce our own food. Nevertheless, about 74,000 years ago, modern humans almost became extinct as a result of dramatic climate changes, and the human population may have been reduced to only about 10,000 adults of reproductive age. It was around this time, approximately 70,000 years ago, that a small reddish star floated close to our Solar System and gravitationally shook up comets and asteroids–sending them screaming inward towards our young Sun. In March 2018, a team of astronomers from the University of Madrid in Spain and the University of Cambridge in England announced that they have verified that the movement of some of these comets and asteroids was effected by that close stellar encounter.

Maturity Is About Dealing Maturely With Immaturity

Searching back for things learned and to learn, the past few years have revealed weaknesses in me I would hardly have realised. As I look back, I feel either embarrassment or courage – maybe both – and, as I consent to God having His way in me, I’ve learned every failure was His will. So, therefore, I’m not embarrassed, even if I did think I was further along the road to maturity than I was.

True-Self: Does Someone Need To Feel Safe In Order To Express Themselves?

When one has the ability to express what is taking place within them, they will probably be seen as someone who is in tune with themselves. They will be able to share their thoughts and feelings, and being this way will affect every area of their life.

Give God Total Control

Our lives can be like a trip on the interstate looking for a town we have never traveled to before. Life can deal us many bridges to cross, unexpected detours, sharp turns, new valleys to enter into and even sudden oncoming traffic. All in all, it’s a road traveled to the unknown.

Self-Examination: When Was the Last Time You Had a Check-Up?

I am reading TWO good short books. One is on motives and the other is about God’s love and it breaks down the difference between “conditioned” and “unconditioned love”. Knowledge is power.
